Another awesome day at the Smoky Mountains. We headed out around 7:15 a.m. It was again about 40 degrees. Today we were able to hike Alum Cave Trail. Here are few pics on the way to the trail.

We started the hike around 8:30 a.m. Everything is lush and beautiful. I can’t believe how much water we see and hear it running all the time.

Here we are in the Alum Cave.

This trail offered us some spectacular views as we rose in elevation. Here is a bluff that was amazing!

This trail was 5.4 miles round trip and I went 1,128 feet in elevation gain. Very cool for Shanell, but Dave thought today was a bit much for him….not sure I’m going to get him to do this type of exercise tomorrow. We are discussing other things.
You can see a pic on the way back out….trees are lovely.

We went to a brewery in Gatlinburg for lunch. In the afternoon, I went back to the Greenbrier area and enjoyed a trail while Dave took it easy for awhile. 🙂
