Fall 2024, Michigan, Upper Peninsula

Dave and I haven’t updated this site for quite awhile. After going to the Hot Springs this spring, we also did a big trip to Alaska in June. We went on a cruise and land tour while there. We went with four other couples and had a fabulous time.

This trip we are heading to Michigan with Bill and Deb McDermott. We are traveling with our campers and have a 12-day trip planned.

We left Saturday, September 28th for Galena, IL. We stayed at the Palace Campground, lots of trees with a pool and mini-golf. What a fun, relaxing place.

We golfed at the General at Eagles Ridge. Pictured below are Bill and Dave having their well-deserved shots for birdies and Debbie and I sulking as we didn’t get to share in their fun. 🙂

We also ate at Fried Green Tomatoes, a local, long time icon in the area. We rode bikes to Chestnut Mountain up some pretty steep hills and had lunch at the Summit restaurant.

We also enjoyed learning about some of the history of the area: home of Ulysses S Grant. Many of the homes/buildings in Galena are historic landmarks. We walked on the Galena River Trail and Horseshoe Mound Reserve.
