Zion National Park, Utah

View from our camper window this morning

Driving out of the campground

We drove into Zion National Park around 7:45. We took a shuttle to the northern most stop, Temple of Sinawava. We are doing the Narrows.

Got our water and walking sticks

Today’s hike in the Narrows takes place in and along the Virginia River through a slot canyon with towering walls.

Here we are at the beginning

The water was pretty cold and the air was brisk down in the canyon. We only had to walk thru water above our waist in one section, You walk over the rocks almost all of the time. We loved it when the warmth of the sun made it down to us!

We could have gone up the way for miles, but we stopped after about 2.5 miles and then turned around. It was challenging because of the rocks and sometimes sand over the rocks on the side, but we all loved it!

We are just getting on the bus when we run into Emma Leisinger! Emma is the daughter of good friends Jon and Toni from Council Bluffs. So great to touch base with her.

In the evening, we enjoyed burgers and sitting outside at our campground.
