Day 12, September 13, 2025

Zion National Park

Today at Zion, we are climbing to Angels Landing. Deb applied for the pass and we were so thankful to receive it. We began on the trail up to Scout’s Landing (2 miles, mostly up) around 7:30 am. Once there, we checked in with the ranger and began the trail to Angels Landing.

Beginning the trek

Here are some photos on the way up.

Someone offered to take our picture.

We are probably about halfway up to Scouts Landing here
Looking down on the trail we came up.
The views just keeping getting better

From here, the pics are after Scouts Landing to Angels Landing. The trail is more natural.the total trail up and back (including up to Scouts Landing) is about 5.4 miles roundtrip with 1500 elevation gain.

Deb and I climbing using the chains in case we need them.
Bill didn’t seem to mind any of the terrain and it was good to follow him

Chains were recently added in various spots and really help folks. Currently, the park allows 850 passes to Angels Landing a day, they are spread out into 3 groups. We were in the first group and started a little after 8 am.

We are walking from the bottom of this pic to the left around the greenery up to the area at the top of the photo.
Angels Landing is amazing. There is enough space for people to roam and sit and look at the beauty all around.

Below is a pic when we are back down and we are looking up to where we were.

Afterward, Dave picked us up and we ate lunch and a celebratory beer at the Zion National Brew Pub. We debated about doing a little more hiking but it was getting quite busy and hot. So we relaxed at the campground.

The guys watched quite a bit of football and after dinner, Deb and I played Sequence, so pretty chill afternoon and evening. 😊
