Travel day to Bryce Canyon

Today, we watched the sunrise with a cup of coffee.

Then we packed up and made our way to Bryce Canyon and a new campground in Cannonville. here are some views along the way. We left the campground for Bryce around 1:30.

Before we get to Bryce, I have to back up and share one more item from yesterday at Angels Landing. when we were on the upward section of our trail, just after Scouts landing, somebody told us to look down on this wall and that there was a guy sleeping or hanging out in a tent. I can’t imagine.

Back to today’s activities. We took the shuttle once we got into Bryce Canyon National Park, and wrote our way to Sunrise Point.

Breathtaking
Here are two panoramic views from the top when we got off the shuttle

Here is an information board about HooDoos

As we really look down from the top

We began our descent down Queens Garden Trail

Bill hit his head…

The trail is about one mile down, then about a mile across the bottom and then hop on Navajo Trail back up to Sunset Point.

On the way home we stopped a place called Mossy Cave. We decided it wasn’t really worth the time, however, here are few pics.

Walking to Mossy Cave
This was the cave. Ha, ha

While at Bryce Canyon, we stopped at the visitor center and watched a movie about different things about Bryce Canyon. One of the things we learned was that many of the pine trees, once they get to a certain stage, the bark smells like vanilla or butterscotch. The tree behind Bill and Deb is one of those trees. So we looked silly as we started smelling the trees on the way back to the pickup.
