Capitol Reef National Park
We are checking out Capitol Reef again today. We have picked a couple of trails to try. For the last week or so, it gets quite cool in the evenings, but amazingly beautiful during the days. Today is no different as it is so cool at the camp site. But once we get to the trail and are protected in a canyon, it is awesome!

Hickman Bridge Trail is the first trail.

This river is the Fremont.

Once we get to a landing and head towards the natural bridge, we saw a goat sitting on a rock.

This is the view looking back at the bridge.
The second hike began in the same area of the park, Cohab Canyon Trail.

We saw an option to add to our trail. We could go up and around to check out Fruita lookout. See below. Historically, this land when settled fruit trees were planted and continue to exist.
The tradition continues today with over 2000 trees currently on the property. They are tended by park employees but if you happen to catch the right time, can assist with picking or purchase at the visitors center.

Went back down and got back on the Cohab Trail

Once we made it back down, we had a picnic lunch outside a campground and the visitor center. We thought about doing one more hike but decided to head back to the campground to relax and do any chores.
In the evening, we celebrated being able to be on this amazing trip and doing it together. Here we are enjoying a glass of wine at an outdoor area provided by the campground.

We then drove into town, a small town called Teasdale, to eat dinner at a little restaurant called Hunt and Gather. It is a Wednesday and upon walking in we realized we should have made a reservation, but we were early enough they made space for us and boy are we glad they did. It was awesome! In addition to an interesting menu, they have a few specials every evening.
