Day 18, September 19, 2025

We are going to Dead Horse Point State Park and then back to Canyonlands National Park.

On our way to the state park, we took a few pics of fake Dino’s in a visitors area. I plan to share with Frankie.

Then we made our way to Dead Horse Point State Park. It is located right beside Canyonlands. Quite a few people had mentioned this park as worth checking out.

We decided to do a walk from the east rim to the west rim. Basically this is a 5 mile loop (that took us 6.5 as we hit a couple of overlooks and got lost, but only for a bit). In the morning, it is cloudy and we can see that it is raining in some areas

These are solar evaporation ponds, explained below
Colorado River, quite dirty but beautiful around it!
For those of you that watched Thelma and Louise, this is the cliff
More views along the rim

Cactus plants are located in some of the areas. I think they are a nice shade of green!

A nice couple from Massachusetts took these pics for us

After the fun trek around the rim, we ate a picnic lunch and then made our way to the Canyonlands park.

We found out that a section of the park that was closed yesterday was open today. It is called Grand View Point Overlook.

Continuing on the trail
Not sure how these rocks stay in this position

Up on top of the overlook

We then headed to an area called Upheaval Dome. they aren’t exactly sure why this area is like it is. See below.

Dave, a little ways off ( in blue)

Great day.
