January 26-30, Cape Coral, FL

We are getting settled in here. We’ve had some pretty cool days (nothing like in Iowa), and some beautiful days this week. Some highlights include:

Sitting by the pool for a little Sun!

Very few people here as they thought it was too cold. I stuck it out for about an hour.

We went to Fort Meyer’s and toured the Thomas Edison and Henry Ford Winter Estates and Museum. It was a beautiful area and quite interesting to learn about these men, their inventions and history.

Beautiful plants on the Thomas Edison Estate

We also shopped for a bit at the Miramar Outlet Mall located in Estero. We golfed at an 18 hole executive course. It was not a great course, but we enjoyed being outside and swinging the club!

Having a treat after golf

Today we rode bike. We tried the area near this park so we had some bike lanes and some sidewalk/bike trail. We probably will try another area next time or load the bikes into the truck and get on a trail to ride.

One evening this week we played Swipe or Swoop (same game, two different names), at the Clubhouse; there were 6 tables with 6 players each. Another evening we played Cribbage with Bill and Deb. It’s been a fun game to learn. Dave is a good teacher.

Tomorrow is pretty cold again and possible rain in the am.

All for now.
