Day 4, September 2

Checking out Litchfield Connecticut area

The roads are winding all the time. Today, we headed to Kent Falls State Park. When we pulled up, it looked a small waterfall, but we were pleasantly surprised the more we explored.


Nearby was a waterfall/hike at Great Falls in Falls Village. It is located on the Housatonic River first, we thought it was this dam area.

it was pretty cool. However, we kept checking out the trails and found this. The building shown below is a hydroelectric plant built in 1914 and was utilized for electricity for over 100 years.


Very cool place to visit. We then made our way to a spot AI suggested called Dean’s Ravine. After working very hard to find it, (twice), we finally found it, checked out the hike, which did go down a ravine, but not a lot else. On to the next place to check out.

After lunch in a quaint little place called the Mountainside Cafe, we made our way to Steep Rock Preserve. Here we began on a trail that was developed over a railroad track. But we soon discovered it was a beautiful trail along the
