Day 17, September 15

last day in Orland, Maine

Bill, Deb and I got in a hike this am, while Dave decided to do some chores around the campsite. The hikers went over to the great Pond Mountain area where we gone two days ago. Our goal was to a little farther than what we did previously and go to the summit via a different path. However, we realized very little different path that overlapped and the same distance. However, today is a fabulous, sunny day.

other pics from this hike, no fog is awesome!

in the photo above, you can see Fort Knox and the bridge we explored the day we arrived. We had not been able to see it two days ago.

Did I mention that it is a beautiful day? 😁. On our way back to camp, we stopped at the grocery store. I happened to catch this heron in the river behind the store.

After lunch, Dave went with us to another area called Peter’s Brook. There was supposed to be to be a waterfall, but it was really just little more than a trickle. The hikers went was pleasant however, so it was a fun afternoon.

We spent the remainder of the afternoon in our lawn chairs outside at the campsite with a beverage. It was sunny and 70 degrees…
